The Doo-Bop Club is about live music only!
The Doo-Bop Club is a non-profit organization and run by volunteers. The Doo-Bop Club mission is to offer high quality live music in a friendly atmosphere in the heart of downtown Vasa, Finland. The goal has always been to offer a place for musicians to play their own kind of music, the kind that isn’t suitable anywhere else. The music ranges from jazz and blues to funk, salsa and country music.
From the bar you will get a range of different beers, wines, ciders and soft drinks at a reasonable price, to enjoy during the concerts.
HISTORY
In 1994 a group of musicians wanted a place to rehearse and perform their music, so they founded The Doo-Bop Club as a non-profit organization. The first concert was held in 1995 and the organization and it’s volunteers has since actively been running a music club in the heart of downtown Vasa.
The live acts that perform at Doo-Bop are local and national, as well as international top acts. Famous artists who have performed at the club include Kurt Rosenwinkel, Peter Erskine, Terry Lyne Carrington, John Abercrombie, Jonathan Kreisberg, Gilad Hekselman, Dayna Stephens, Eric Alexander, Will Vinson, Joel Frahm, Ari Hoenig, Gregory Hutchinson, Esbjörn Svensson, Toninho Horta, Georg Riedel and Bo Kaspers Orkester.
The Doo-Bop Club would not exist in it’s current shape without external funding, so we’re extremely greatful for the long term financial support we’re received by Svenska kulturfonden, Vasa Stad, Konstsamfundet, Harry Schaumans stiftelse and Nygrens stiftelse.
