This expressive trio performs Alanen's compositions, which represent Nordic contemporary jazz with elements of cinematic music, folk music and minimalism. Ida Alanen (b. 1994) is a Finnish jazz pianist/composer based in Amsterdam. She is undergoing her jazz master studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the instruction of Harmen Fraanje. The trio acts as a collective mind, performing Alanen's compositions that can be described as expressive Nordic contemporary jazz with elements of minimalism, folk and cinematic music. Each member of the trio contributes to the sound with their own unique voice. The trio is set to record their debut album in October 2022. Ida's composing work has been supported with grants from the Finnish Music Creators' Fund and Arts Promotion Centre Finland.
