This transborder quartet will present a balanced program of jazz standards as well as some originals with a more modern aesthetic.
Benjamin Faconnier is a trumpet player and music composer, born and raised in Perpignan, south of France. His compositions are inspired by the powerful music of masters such as Thelonious Monk, Charles Mingus and Miles Davis, or yet by contemporary musicians like Ambrose Akinmusire and Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah. Upon meeting in Helsinki jam sessions, the musicians from this quartet decided to further their collaboration and share their commitment to Black American improvisational music.
