IdKa Jazz (SWE/FIN)

The quartet’s genre is Nordic jazz with clear roots from the 1950s and 60s. Its inspiration sources are Lars Gullin, Dexter Gordon and other tenorists, as well as Ida’s own upbringing, choir singing, gospel music and Psalm book-inspired piano fiddling. The quartet alternates between fine-tuned harmonies and energetic swing, along with soft, heartfelt ballads and delirious solos.
IdKa Jazz is located in Malmö and all of its musicians have completed the Malmö Academy of musics’ jazz musician program, in different rounds.
Their debut album “The Onion’s Core” was released in 2018 (at Gammalthea).

DÀIEN5 (ITA)

The Italo-Finnish quintet composes original pieces that are influenced greatly by the american hard bop-idiom, made famous by Horace Silver, Art Blakey and Cannonball Adderley to name a few. For the listeners interest, there is heaps of room for the band’s highly talented and virtuosic soloists.
DÀIEN5 is an Italo-Finnish quintet born in 2020. The band composes original music with the reminiscent of the legendary blue note-sound. For the listeners interest, there is heaps of room for the band’s highly talented and virtuosic soloists. In their music one can hear the obliterated joy, when these young phenomenal musicians collide together with free flowing ideas and originality. The fine gentlemen have gathered insight from all around Europe and the States, too. Furthermore they are sought-after soloists and sidemen in their homefields in addition to the international, fine venues and jazz festivals.

Simon Zion

Simon Zion (SWE) is a recording artist originally from the south of Finland that grew up in the north of Sweden. He’s known to be playing and writing in a wide range of genres ranging all the way from jazz to rock-music, with a red thread that is his authentic sound in both his vocals and his guitar playing.
Simon first made a name for himself in the music industry when he won 3rd place in Swedish Idol 2015. Since then he’s been going back and forth to Los Angeles; writing, recording and delivering captivating live performances for his audience.
In recent years Zion has honed in even more on his passion for jazz and the improvisational side of music and released an album called “Intrinsic Drive” in 2020 exploring and pushing the boundaries of jazz together with the musicians. He is currently writing his next upcoming album.
Simon Zion has been spoken of in the same sentences as Jeff Buckley, Sting, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Robert Plant etc. While maintaining his own unique style in a modern musical environment.

La Riippa Group

La Riippa Group derives From the west coast of Finland and has its roots deep in the soil of Ostrobothnian traditional musicianship but travel far and wide in their musical interpretation. The aery arrangements carry the stories that are sung both in English and the dialect from the village of Nedervetil.
La Riippa Group released their debut album ”Dirty Work” in 2018 and it was received with beautiful remarks, their music traveling on the international radiostations. In 2021 LRG took part of the award-winning international digital collaboration “Global Music Match” and they will release their second album ”Bara Dalagubba” in 2022.
 
The band consists of five members:
