Music with references from Northern Jazz and melodies from Scandinavian folk music
Finnish jazz quartet Aurora Hentunen Quartet has been giving concerts actively all around Europe after releasing their debut album Second Spring in April 2018. In August 2019 Aurora Hentunen Quartet published it’s 2nd album Frost and starts it’s tour in Finland, later continuing to the Netherlands, Germany, France and Belgium.
Hentunen’s music contains a lot of references from Northern Jazz and melodies from Scandinavian folk music. Her music has been described as very compositional and fresh, the band as distinctive, led by mature young musicians. The band is considered as one of the rising stars in the Northern Jazz scene.
